We’re back on schedule with more ‘toons in volume 13 of ‘Tooning for Tots! Big cats make their way back into circulation, with a jaguar and a leopard in this edition. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hang tough with another scene, while Batman tries to subdue an out-of-control Superman. Parrots, dolphins, and Power Rangers round out the entries.
The color enhancements of the featured image in the blog posts are really adding a new dimension to the artwork, as well as forcing me to make sure I close all my line gaps in the drawings. While I wasn’t in any rush to “Ted Turner-ize” the sketches, it’s fun going through the finished pieces and seeing which one deserves to be in color.
Strongest entries in this set have to be the parrot and TMNT. Both a teacher and child wanted the parrot, so I had to make sure I put extra effort in both the bird and the background. The TMNT drawing is both a balanced drawing, and a successful humorous ‘toon.
