‘Tooning for Tots Volume 21: Getting Mousy

‘Tooning for Tots returns from over a month absence! The children had one or two new characters to suggest this time around. Joining the Pop Culture celebration is Pikachu from the world of Pokemon. Old favorites like Batman, Minecraft, and puppies make appearances as well.

It was hard to pick a favorite, since this was a pretty balanced set of drawings. While I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of Minecraft, I have to admit that those drawings tend to turn out really well. The Enderman character gets lots to do in this batch of sketches — whether attacking a hero, riding a dragon, or carrying a dragon. Batman was requested twice, so I did one in the Lego figure style to switch things up. A plain turtle, rather than a Ninja Turtle, was a different idea.

For this week’s colorized image, I settled on the mouse. I had a good idea on the color scheme in mind. Though the Pokemon ‘toon is good, the web is already littered with images. So I passed on coloring Pikachu. The turtle was in the running, but I decided there’s just not enough going on in the drawing to justify it.
