‘Tooning for Tots Volume 12: Flying, Flittering Critters

‘Tooning for Tots Volume 12 brings a change: colored featured images to spruce up the blog!

The drawings in this set run the gamut. As with the last volume, the children are really coming up with some diverse creatures, real and imaginary, for me to sketch. A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle returns, but this week’s drawings also feature, insects, fantasy creatures from video games like Minecraft and Mortal Kombat, and jungle animals like monkeys and tigers.

It’s hard to pick a centerpiece from these cartoons. The caterpillar and butterfly ‘toon felt like the most complete drawing, which is why I took the time to experiment and color it. The dragonfly is also a good one. The Mortal Kombat picture, while showcasing my inadequacies as a life-drawer with regards to the human form, still got a great reaction from some of the little guys in the classroom.
